Lil' Cowgirl

Sis and her class worked with Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth last week to write and record a Friendship song. Then they preformed it during a family night at school. A's contribution to the song was "Let's pretend we're unicorns". Blogger was being fussy and wouldn't let me upload the entire video so here's about half the song.

Basketball

This is C's first year of playing basketball. It's rather difficult to keep all those rules straight when your only 8. He's sure having a good time trying to figure it all out.

Visiting with the Elk

Seeing the elk at the feeding station nearby is one of our favorite winter outings.
The size and beauty of these animals always seems to amaze me.

No trip is quite complete without a little dress up fun!

Teacher Christmas Gifts

The kids and I gave homemade gifts this year to their teachers...
Yummy cranberry cookie mix in a jar, a quilted potholder, and cards made from my left over scraps.

They turned out pretty cute.

12 Days of Christmas

We started a new Christmas tradition this year in keeping with the true spirit of the season. I created this calendar for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Behind each number is a good dead that we did that day. The kids helped to come up with simple tasks they could do to make others feel good. For example:
  • Smile and Say hello to everyone you see.
  • Leave change in a vending machine
  • Give 5 compliments to 5 different people
  • Take some treats to the animal shelter
  • Leave a gift for the garbageman
  • Find the house with the best lights and send them a note
